The Author

Elaine White is the author of multi-genre MM romance, celebrating 'love is love' and offering diversity in both genre and character within her stories.

Growing up in a small town and fighting cancer in her early teens taught her that life is short and dreams should be pursued. She lives vicariously through her independent, and often hellion characters, exploring all possibilities within the romantic universe.

The Winner of two Watty Awards – Collector's Dream (An Unpredictable Life) and Hidden Gem (Faithfully) – and an Honourable Mention in 2016's Rainbow Awards (A Royal Craving) Elaine is a self-professed geek, reading addict, and a romantic at heart.

Wild Rose, Silent Snow

Wild Rose, Silent Snow - Angel Martinez 3.5

I liked this story, but there was something missing that just didn't quite bring it up that further level to a 4 or 5 star. The characters were good, though I strangely liked Snow - the strong, silent brother - better than the others. With the story primarily told through Rowan and Cade's POV, I figure this wasn't a good thing.

The dual POV didn't start until 27% either, which is an odd choice.

There was a bit of an addiction to animalistic language that interrupted the flow, too. But it was nice to see the exploration of two uncommon conditions - broca's aphasia and agraphia - within the two brothers, Rowan and Snow.

There wasn't as much chemistry as I would have liked. It felt genuine and sudden for Snow, which made sense based on his interactions with Griffin, but I found Rowan to have more chemistry with Cade the bear than Cade the man, which was kind of strange and weird.

Overall, a story that I'm in two minds about. I might revisit later in the year to see if it changes the second time around.
